Metro-East Lutheran High School is preparing students for work, life, and service in the world. Owned and operated by an association of Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod (LCMS) congregations, Metro-East Lutheran High School was started in 1977 as the result of several families coming together with a mutual concern for the Christian education of their children beyond the eighth grade.

The first students had stints at several different facilities while the original building on Center Grove Road was being constructed, with the opening delayed by a violent storm that dismantled much of the project. From that initial enrollment of 15 to now more than 200 students, God's work continues to be done.

Our reputation is one of academic excellence and college preparatory training, bolstered by strong curriculum and a caring, Christian faculty and staff. Half of our faculty hold advanced degrees, and the majority are synodically trained, helping ensure that we maintain a solid focus on Lutheran doctrine.

Though many things have changed in the last 40-plus years, one thing that has remained constant is our commitment to providing a Christ-centered education to high school students in the Metro East. We continue to trust in Christ to provide for our needs and give us the wisdom needed for the awesome position in which He has placed us. We look to Him as we navigate the coming 40 years, and beyond.
